Materials:
size 10 crochet cotton (I used Southmaid, but others are just as good!)
size 1.5mm steel crochet hook
Glass or plastic Christmas ball app. 2 5/8" diameter (this one was plastic)
Join with sl st in top of ch unless specified.
Ch 5, sl st to join.
1. Ch 3, 14 dc in ring, join. (15 dc)
2. ch 3, dc in same st. 2 dc in each st around. Join.
3. Ch 8. Sk 1 st, dc in next. *ch 5, sk 1 st, dc in next around. Ch 2, dc in 3rd
ch of of ch 8 to join.
4. ch 4 (dc, ch 1, dc) in same space. [ (dc, ch1) twice, dc] in each ch space
around. Join to 3rd ch of ch 4.
5. Ch 3. Holding last loop of each st on hook, tr in next two dc. YO, draw
through all loops. * Ch 5. Holding last loop of each st on hook, tr in next 3
dc. YO, draw through all loops {cluster made}. Repeat from * around. Ch 2,
dc in top of tr cluster to join.
6. Ch 5, (tr, ch 1, tr) in same sp. [ (tr, ch1) twice, tr] in each space around.
Join to 4th ch of ch 5. Insert ball into piece before continuing.
7. Ch 3. Holding last loop of each st on hook, tr in next 2 tr, yo, pull through
all loops. *ch3. Holding last loop of each st on hook, tr in next 3 tr, YO, pull
through all 4 loops. Repeat from * around. Ch 1, hdc in top of ch 3 to join.
Insert ball before continuing:
8. Ch 1, sc in same sp. (ch3, sc in next ch 3 space) around. Ch 1, hdc in 1st sc
to join.
9. Ch 1, sc in same space and in each sp around. Join to 1st sc, FO
