A scorpion that's...huggable??
Make him/her with worsted weight yarn and
polyester stuffing, finished size is app. 13x 9 x 3
1/2" (33 x 23 x 9cm).
To make the doll more child safe, do not use sewn
or glued on eyes if making for a small child.

cousin, who is also a very dear friend.  
Janny-bear was made holding one
strand worsted and one strand eyelash
yarn together, and sits app. 12" tall.  
Can be made with regular yarn, or even
thread and an appropriate hook.
Alien Egg Grabby Ball.  App. 7" long,
15" in circumference made with
worsted weight yarn.  'Bumps' are
crocheted into the piece, not sewn on,
for a sturdier and safer attachment.
Pattern:  $1.75

so cannot be grasped to pull off.  Ideal for
