materials for both:  crochet thread size 10
                                  hook size 7/1.65mm
                                  small amount of polyester stuffing
                                  magnetic strip
For both, rounds are joined at end with sl st to top of first st, unless otherwise noted.


Iceberg Lettuce (left)
Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
1.  ch1, 12 sc in ring.
2.  ch1, 2 sc in each st around.
3.  ch1 (sc in 2 sts, 2 sc in next) around.
4.  ch 1 (sc in 4 sts, 2 sc in next) around, sc in last 2 sts.
5.  ch1, (sc in 6 sts, 2 sc in next) around, sc in last 3 sts.
6.  In   BLPS for this round only, ch1 (sc in 8 sts, 2sc in next) around to last 7 sts.  sc in 6,
2 sc in last.(48)
7-14.  ch1, sc around.
15-16.  (dec, sc in next 2 sts) around.  STUFF.
17.  In BLPS for this round only, ch1, dec around.  (14)
18.  (dec, sc in next st) around.  FO, leaving long end for sewing.
Weave end through sts of last round, pull tightly to close.  Weave in end securely.

Top trim:
Work in free loops of round 16, join thread in any st.  Ch2, 4 hdc in same st.  5 hdc in ea
st around, join to top of ch2.  FO.

Leaves:(make 3)
With bottom toward you, join in any unworked loop of round 5.  Leaves are worked in
rows.
Row 1:  ch3, dc in same st.  Dc in next 12 sts, 2 dc in next.  Turn, leaving remaining sts
unworked.
2.  ch3, dc in same st.  Dc across, with 2 dc in turning ch.  Turn.
3.  ch3, dc next 2 sts together (dec), dc in 5 sts, dec, dc in 5, dec, dc in top of ch 3.  Turn.
4.  Ch 3.  Dec.  *Leaving last loop of each st on hook, tr in next 3 sts.  Yo, pull through all
4 loops.  Repeat from * twice more.  Dc dec, then dc in last st.  Turn.
5.  Ch 3, 4 dc in same st.  5 dc in ea st across, and in each row end down the one side.  FO,
leaving long end for sewing.

Repeat leaf steps 2 times more, skipping first stitch to left of last leaf made and joining
thread in next.
Using long ends of leaves, tack each leaf in place, being sure ruffled edge of leaf
overlaps unfinished edge of leaf beside it.  Weave in all ends, glue magnet to bottom.


Romaine Lettuce

Repeat rounds 1-3 of iceberg.
4.  In BLPS for this round  only, ch1, (sc in 4 sts, 2 sc in next) around.
5-13.  ch3, dc in each st around.
14.  ch3 (dec, dc in next st) around.  dc in last st.  STUFF.
15.  In BLPS for this round only, ch3, decrease around.  Join, FO, leaving long end for
sewing.
Thread end in and out of stitches of last round, pull tightly to close and weave in end
securely.

Top Ruffle:  Join in any unworked loop of round 14.  ch2, 4 hdc in same st.  5 hdc in
each st around.

For leaves, make 3:
With bottom facing, join in any free loop of rnd 3.  ch3, dc in same st.  Dc in 8 sts, 2 dc in
next, turn.
2-3.  ch3, dc in same st.  dc across to last st, 2 dc in last st.  Turn.
4-7.  ch3, dc in each st across.
8.  ch3, dec (leaving last loop of each st on hook, tr in next 3 sts.  yo, pull through all 4
loops)  Repeat () twice more, dc in next st, dec, dc in last.  Turn.
9.  Ch3, 4 dc in same st.  5 dc in each st across top of leaf, and in each row end down the
one side.  FO, leaving about 10" for sewing.

Repeat for two more leaves, joining in second free loop to left of leaf just made.

With long ends, tack leaves in place, being sure that ruffled edge overlaps unfinished
edge of leaf beside it.
Weave in ends securely, glue magnet to back.
