| A mitten to hold a travel size tissue package. Crescent shape opening on back for tissue access, mitten is open at top for easy changing of package. Materials: Worsted weight yarn, mitten colour Eyelash yarn (or use contrasting worsted weight yarn) for trim Size F (3.75mm) crochet hook Notes: Rounds are joined unless specified. Begin each row/round with ch1, does NOT count as first st. Sc in same st OR in specified stitch to begin. To work dec: draw up loop in each of next 2 sts, YO, draw through all 3 loops. To begin: With mitten colour, ch6. 2sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in 3 chs, 3sc in last ch. Working in opposite side of starting ch, sc in 3 sts. Sc in same st as beginning 2sc. Join. (12) Rnd 2: *sc in 1 st, 3sc in next, sc in 3 sts, 3sc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (20) Rnd 3: Sc in 2 sts. *2sc in next, sc in 5 sts, 2sc in next.* Sc in 3 sts. Repeat from * to * once more. Sc in last st. (24) Rnd 4-8: Sc around. Rnd 9: 2sc in 1st st, sc around to last st, do not sc in last st, turn. Work in rows for the next few rows. Row 10: Sk 1st st, sc in each remaining st to last st, 2sc in last st, turn. Row 11& 12: Repeat row 9&10. Row 13-17: Sc in each st across, turn. At end of 17, join with sl st in 1st st. Continue working in rounds. Rnd 18: Sc in 16 sts. Ch3, sk 3 sts, [forms thumb opening] sc in last 5, join. Rnd 19: Sc in each sc and ch around. (24) Rnd 20&21: Sc around. Rnd 22-24: Sc around in BLPS only. Rnd 25: (Sc in 10 sts, dec) twice. (22) FO Thumb: Rnd 1: Join mitten colour in any st of thumb opening. 6sc evenly around opening. Rnd 2-4: Sc around, fO, leaving long tail. Weave tail in and out of stitches of rnd 4, pull tightly to close and fasten securely. Trim: *If using eyleash yarn: Join yarn in any free loop of rnd 21. Sc around. Join, FO. Repeat for free loops of rnd 22 & 23. *If using regular worsted: Join yarn in any free loop of rnd 21. (Sc, ch2) twice in each free loop. Join, FO. Repeat for free loops of rnd 22 & 23. **This pattern has been tested by myself.
