| Stitches: FPDC=yo, insert hook around post of stitch front to back, continue as double crochet. BPDC=yo, insert hook around post of stitch back to front, continue as double crochet. DTR=double treble: yo 3 times, work same as triple. When joining, join with a slip stitch in top of specified st. Rnd 1; Ch5, join to form ring. Ch2, 15 hdc in ring, join to 2nd ch of ch2. (16 hdc) Rnd 2: Ch3, FPDC around same st. (ch1, sk 1 st, dc/FPDC in next st) around. End with ch1, join to top of ch3. (8dc, 8FPDC) ++Rnd 3: Ch3, FPDC in same stitch. Ch2. *(dc, FPDC) in next st, ch2, dc in ch1 space. (dc, FPDC) in next st. Ch2. Repeat from * around. Dc in last ch1 space, join to top of ch3. (40 sts, 16 sps) Rnd 4: Ch3, FPDC around FPDC. Ch1. (BPDC around dc, FPDC around FPDC. Ch1, BPDC in 2dc, FPDC in FPDC. Ch1) around. End with BPDC around last dc. Join to top of ch3. (40 sts, 16sps) Rnd 5: Sl st into top of FPDC. Ch2 (will not be worked into), FPDC in same stitch. Ch3. (FPDC, in FPDC, ch3) around. Join to top of FPDC. Rnd 6: (work behind chains when working into previous row) Sl st into ch3 space. [Ch4, dc, ch1, DTR in dc in row below. (ch1, dc) twice] all in same space. *In next space, (hdc, ch1, tr in dc one row below, ch1, hdc) {=hdc set}. In following space (sc, ch1, dc in dc one row below, ch1, sc). Work hdc set in next space. ** For corner, work [(dc, ch1) twice, DTR in dc one row below, (ch1, dc) twice]* Repeat from * to * twice, then from * to ** once, join to 3rd ch of ch 4. (4 corners, 13 sts between DTR on each side) ++Rnd 7: (this round is worked in between stitches and in ch spaces) Sl st into ch1 space. Ch4. (counts as dc and ch1) *(Dc, ch1, dc in next space) Ch2. (dc, ch1, dc) in next space, ch1, dc in next space, ch1. Dc between each of next 10 sts (10 dc between ch1 sps) Ch1, dc in ch1 space, ch1**. Repeat from * to ** three times, ending with ch1. Join to 3rd ch of ch4. End here for 6". ++Measure piece. If your tension is tighter than mine and your square does not measure 6", make a round of sc, hdc, or dc. Keep in mind to work 3sc/hdc or 5dc in each corner st to keep piece flat. Rnd 8: (for 7" square) Ch3, work in ch1 spaces and stitches, dc around , making 3 dcs in each corner ch2 space. Join to top of ch3, FO, weave in ends. ++Measure piece. If it does not measure 7", make a round of sc, hdc or dc as above. |
