| Materials: Worsted Weight yarn in 2 colours. I used acrylic, or cotton can be used. col A is actually Country Rose, B is Beige, Red Heart yarns. Size G (4.5mm) hook gave me a potholder roughly 8" in diameter. For smaller, end at round 5, work border same as for large. FPDC=yo once, insert hook from front to back around post of stitch you are working in. Continue as normal dc. Make 2. With Col A, Ch4, Join. 1. Ch4 (=dc + ch1). (DC, ch2) 7 times, join to 3rd ch of ch4. 2. Ch3. FPDC around same st. [ 2 dc in next space, (dc, FPDC) in dc] 7 times. 2dc in next sp, join to top of ch3. 3. Ch3, *(dc, FPDC) in next FPDC. Dc in next dc. Ch1, sk1, dc in next dc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch1, sk1, join to top of ch3. FO col A. NOTE: rounds 4, 5 and 6 are worked in back loops only. 4. Join col B in st of ch1 space. (ch3, TR, dc) in same space. *HDC, 2 sc, hdc to next space. (dc, tr, dc) in ch1. Repeat from * around, end with hdc, join to top of ch3, FO. 5. Join Col A in any st. Ch1, sc in same space. Sc around, working 3 sc in each tr. FO. 6. Join colB in centre st of 3sc corner. (ch1,sc) in st. (ch3, sk2, sc in next st around. End with ch3, join to first sc. 7. [ Work 1st and 3rd st in each space into back loop of corresponding st in round 5 below.] Ch1, sc in same st. *3 hdc in space, hdc in sc. 3 dc in next space, hdc in sc. 3 hdc in space, sc in sc. Repeat from * around. Join, FO. Weave in ends. For border, hold both pieces wrong side together. Working through back loops of both pieces at once, join Col A {col B for small potholder} in any stitch. ch1, sc in same st. (Ch2, sc in next stitch) around. Instead of last ch2, ch8, or ch to make hanging loop in desired size. Join to first sc. FO, weave in ends. |
