steel crochet hook size 1.65mm
crochet cotton thread size 10 in yellow, white and red
Notes: To sc 2 sts tog: draw up loop in each of next 2 sts, yo, draw through all loops.
With red, ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (Wrong side) (15)
Rows 2-4: Sc across, changing to yellow at end of 4.
Rows 5&6: Sc across.
Row 7: 2sc in first st, sc across to last 2 sts, sc last 2 sts tog.
Row 8: Sc first 2 sts, tog, sc across to last st. 2sc in last st, changing to red in last st.
Row 9-12: With red, repeat 7&8 twice. FO at end of 12.
Second half:
With wrong side facing:
1: Join yellow in first st, working across opposite side of starting ch. Sc across.
Rows 2-12: Repeat rows 2-12 of first half, using opposite colours.
Do NOT FO at end of 12. Ch1, sc evenly across top of stripes, FO.
Popcorn:
On all even rows, push ‘bubble’ formed by tr to front of piece.
With white, ch15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (RS) (14)
Row 2: 2sc in 1st st, (tr in 1 st, sc in next) across to last st, 2sc in last. (16)
Row 3: 2sc in 1st st, tr in next, sc in 2. (Tr in 1, sc in next) across to last st. 2sc in last st. (18)
Row 4: Repeat row 2. (20)
Row 5-6: Sc in 1st st, *sc in each tr and tr in each sc across.* Sc in last st.
Rows 7-10: Sc first 2 sts tog. Repeat row 5 from * to * to last to sts. Sc last 2 sts tog. FO at end of row 10.
Tack popcorn to bucket (see picture) Glue magnetic strip to back.
