| This was one of those ideas that just popped into my head. It’s original purpose was a ‘Sweet Dreams Keeper’: you write down good thoughts, tuck them inside and keep the pouch under your pillow in the hopes that you would have good dreams. With lace and hearts and a flower in the centre, it should inspire sweet dreams for any girl! A small section is left open for this purpose, or you could make a pot-pourri sack with tulle and insert inside, or, make a small pillow form, and crochet the entire last round around the form for a small pillow or pin cushion. Size is app. 7" across, using a 2mm hook and Anne by Circulo cotton. There is no size on the label, but it looks like a size 5 or perhaps size 8. To make a smaller sachet, use size 10 cotton with a smaller hook. For a larger pillow (or potholder) use worsted weight with a size G (4.5mm) hook. I am hoping to make these other sizes and take pictures to compare. Materials: 2mm crochet hook crochet cotton, size 5 in 3 colours To start: With pink: Ch4, join to form ring. Rnd 1: ch1, 12 sc in ring, join to top of sc. Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in each st around. Join to top of ch3. (24) Rnd 3: In front loops only this round: *ch4, 2tr in same st. Ch3, sl st in 2 sts. Follow from * around, ending with sl st in last st, sl st into joining st of rnd 2 to join. FO. 12 petals. Rnd 4: With white, join with sc in any unworked loop of rnd 2. (Ch3, sk 1 st, sc in next st) around. End with ch1, hdc in first sc to join. This forms the last ch3 loop. (12 ch3 loops) Rnd 5: ch1, sc around post of hdc. Ch3, sc in next loop. *ch1, sc in same loop. (Ch3, sc in next loop) twice. Repeat from * around. End with ch1, sc in same loop, ch1, hdc in 1st sc to join. (6 ch1 spaces, 12 ch3 loops) rnd 6: ch1, sc around post of dc. Ch3, sc in next loop. *ch3, V st [dc, ch1, dc] in ch1 space. Ch3, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with V st in last ch1 space, ch1, join as in rnd 4. Rnd 7: Ch1, sc around post of hdc. *(ch3, sc in next loop) twice. Ch3. (Dc, ch1) 3 times in V st. Ch2 more. Sc in next loop. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. FO white. Rnd 8: Join pink in second sc after any 3dc. Ch3, 4dc in same st. *ch3, sk 1 ch3 loop, sc in next. Ch3, sc in 2nd dc. Ch3, sc in ch3 loop. Ch3, sk next loop, 5dc in next sc. Repeat from * around, join with sl st in top of ch3. Rnd 9: *(ch2, dc in next dc. Ch2, sl st in next dc) twice. Ch5, sk 1 loop, sc in next loop. Ch3, sc in next loop. Ch5, sl st in 1st dc. Repeat from * around. FO. (6 complete hearts) Rnd 10: Join white with sc in back loop of 1st dc of any heart. *ch3, sc in blp of next dc of same heart. (Ch3, sc in next loop) 3 times, ch3, sc in blp of first dc of heart. Repeat from * around. End with ch1, hdc in 1st sc. Rnd 11: Ch1, sc around post of hdc. Ch2 (sc, ch2) twice in each loop around. Sc, ch2 in same loop as beg. Sc, join. FO. Rnd12: With green, join with sc in space of (sc, ch2, sc) done in same loop of previous round. *ch3, sk next ch2 sp, sc in next. Repeat from * around. FO. Make second side the same, but DO NOT FASTEN OFF after rnd 12. Hold two sides wrong sides together and lining up hearts, ch1, sl st in same sc through BOTH layers. Work through both layers: Ch5, dc in same st. [5 dc in next sc (dc, ch2, dc) in next] 11 times. 5dc in next sc. From here, continue in pattern, work in front layer ONLY (this leaves opening–if you are making a pillow and have your form inserted, continue as before). Join to 3rd ch of ch5. FO. |
