Materials:
empty tea light holder
size 10 bedspread weight cotton, small amount 2 colours
steel crochet hook size 1.75mm
small beads (optional)

Notes: Start rounds of dc with ch3, counts as first st.
           Rounds are joined with sl st in top of first st of round.
            Start rounds of sc with ch1, does not count as first st, sc in same st to begin.

To start, with first colour:
Ch4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch3, 13 dc in ring, join.  (14dc)
Rnd 2: 2dc in each st around. (28)
Rnd 3: (2dc in 1 st, dc in next) around.  (42)
Rnd 4: In blps this round only, sc around.
Rnd 5: Ch3. *Sk 2 sts.  (Dc, ch2, dc) in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Sk last 2 sts.  (Dc, ch2) in same st as beg ch3, join to top of ch 3.  (14 V-sts)
Rnd 6: Ch5.  Dc in next 2dc.  (Ch2, dc in next 2dc) around.  End with dc in last dc, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5.
Rnd 7: Ch3.  Dc in next dc.  (Ch2, dc in next 2dc) around.  End with dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3.
Rnd 8: Work 1 sc in each dc and ch sp around.  (42 sc) FO.

Bottom trim: With top toward you, working in free loops of rnd 3, join second colour at back with sc.  Sc around, join, FO.

Top trim: Join second colour with sc in any st of rnd 8.  Ch2.  (Sc, ch2) in each st around, FO.

Handle:
With first colour, ch5.  Dc in 5th ch from hook.  Turn. *Ch5, dc in top of same dc, turn.  Repeat from * 12 more times, FO.

Place main piece over candle cup, gluing in place if desired.  Glue handle ends to inside of cup.  If desired, glue small decorative beads or sequins to outside of basket.
